Troubleshooting USB DAC not detected on Sense

If you’re connecting an external DAC via USB to your Innuos System and you get a message “DAC not Connected” on the Player area, try the following steps:

  1. Ensure the DAC is connected and set to the right input.
  2. Try connecting your DAC to a PC/Mac or another streamer via USB to confirm the USB interface on your DAC is working correctly.
  3. Check your DAC is operating in USB Audio Class 2 mode. Check the manual to confirm if there’s an option for selection.
  4. If you have a ZENmini Mk2, ZEN Mk2 or ZENith Mk2, do note there are incompatibilities with some USB controllers on DACs, particularly with some versions of XMOS. For these cases, we’d recommend using the iFi iPurifier 3 in-between your server and the DAC.

If your DAC is still not detected, you can contact our support email and provide the following information:

  1. DAC brand and model
  2. Innuos system model
  3. Sense system mode (Sense, Roon, UPnP)
  4. A screenshot of the System > Settings > Audio screen
