As an Accounting, Tax & Compliance Specialist, you will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, reliability and compliance of our financial and accounting processes.
Working as part of our Finance team, you will take ownership of key accounting and tax activities, contribute to monthly and year-end closing processes, and help strengthen our financial controls and compliance practices.
This is a hands-on role for someone who combines solid accounting and tax experience with accuracy, sound judgement and a continuous improvement mindset. Just as importantly, we value humility, collaboration and a genuine willingness to contribute to the team, someone who brings experience and knowledge while remaining open to learning, sharing and working together.
What You’ll Do
Ensure the accurate recording, classification and control of accounting transactions, maintaining the quality and integrity of financial information.
Perform and support monthly and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations, account analysis and resolution of discrepancies.
Prepare and ensure the timely completion of applicable tax filings, reporting and statutory obligations.
Keep up to date with relevant accounting and tax developments and support their effective implementation within internal processes.
Prepare financial information and documentation required for audits, external reviews, inspections and other verification processes.
Support and monitor financial compliance requirements and internal controls, identifying potential risks, deviations and opportunities for improvement.
Contribute to the quality, consistency and documentation of Finance procedures and controls.
Support the preparation of financial and management information when required.
Contribute to cross-functional Finance initiatives and projects.
Help continuously improve Finance processes, procedures and systems, including the effective use and development of Odoo and other supporting tools, increasing efficiency, data reliability and process automation.
Share technical knowledge and contribute to consistent practices across the Finance team.
Support wider Finance priorities when required, working collaboratively across responsibilities to ensure business continuity and achievement of team objectives.
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Accounting, Finance, Management or a related field.
Solid knowledge and practical experience in accounting and taxation.
Good understanding of accounting closing processes, reconciliations and financial reporting.
Understanding of financial compliance and internal control principles.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to identify discrepancies, risks and improvement opportunities.
High standards of accuracy, integrity, organisation and attention to detail.
A process-oriented mindset with a strong interest in continuous improvement.
Confidence working with ERP systems and financial tools.
Humility and a strong collaborative mindset, with openness to listen, learn, share knowledge and contribute beyond your immediate area of responsibility when needed.
Ability to work effectively across different teams and functions.
Autonomy and accountability, combined with a genuine team-oriented approach.
Ability to manage priorities and deadlines effectively.
Fluency in Portuguese and working proficiency in English.
Nice to Have
Certified Accountant qualification (OCC) or relevant accounting/tax certification.
Experience working with Odoo or similar ERP systems.
Experience supporting internal or external audits.
Experience within an international or multi-market business environment.
Experience contributing to Finance process improvement and automation.
