The ZEN is a true HiFi component with a number of improvements on top of the ones offered by the ZENmini.

Linear Power Supply

The ZEN uses our linear power supply design with ultra-low noise regulators (40 uV), specialised audio capacitors (Nichicon MUSE) and medical-grade mains filter to ensure audio transparency and realism.

Ultra-low Noise Streamer Output

Dual-ethernet ports with isolation transformers on Ethernet ports significantly improve sound quality on streamers when compared to a direct router connection.

Reduced Vibration

Vibration kills good sound quality so we have added significant anti-vibration treatment to chassis and electronic components.

In-Memory Playback

With 2GB dedicated memory, the ZEN loads music directly to memory for playback so that it doesn’t need to engage the hard drive during playback, improving sound quality.

  • What I adore about the Zenith MK2‘s usability from Innuos is that it’s not a celebration of what can be achieved in the future, it’s a celebration of what can be achieved right now.

The Zenith isn’t just another streamer, it has its own personality and that’s Important. Innuos have designed a complete fuss free digital front end, that combines carefully chosen hardware and sophisticated software into an easy to use product which has honesty and transparency at its heart.
The sound of a Zenith 2 is transparent, honest and truthful and any system that reflects a balance that the user is happy with will benefit from its implementation. Setup and usage is easy and playback and library management is straightforward and intuitive.

  • tonally neutral, ultra resolved, rhythmically in the pocket and spatially dimensional

With their flagship ZENith MkII, our newer firm Innuos has a music server/player that's very solidly made, attractively styled, super fast due to its SSD and a poster child for user friendliness and intuitive use. Particularly the browser interface makes chores like tags, rips, imports and backup scheduling easy as pie. This should be the gold standard.

  • All in all, it’s a very hard act to beat for anyone looking to push streaming quality to the max.

ZENith delivers a highly coherent, vibrant, and engaging sound that hangs together very well indeed.
It delivers instrument timbre, reverb, and more importantly does so in such a fashion that it sounds like musicians playing together. This is not something that streaming systems do as a matter of course, or arguably digital audio as a whole for that matter.

  • It’s solid, pretty job of real aficionados

My laptop has been adapted to play files, since it features SSD, and one of the latest versions of the JPlay software player installed personally by Martin Ostapowicz, and I had a chance to use it with dozens of different DACs, so I know it well.
The server under review offers better performance, hands down. In terms of reliability, convenience and sound quality.
